Only you'll know if they're "real" wood or not...
WELCOME to my new website!
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Cheryl Resendez and I started this new business of painting garage doors to look like wood. During the remodel of my own home, I wanted to upgrade my garage doors with wood ones, but the price was well out of my budget. Being a graduate of Phoenix Institute of Technology’s Fine Arts program, I thought, I can paint them to look like wood. No one driving or walking by would know the difference. So, that is exactly what I did. A couple of neighbors watched my remodel progress, and once they saw the garage doors, approached me and asked me to come and paint theirs. Being a stay at home mom for the last 16 years, this seemed like the perfect career choice for me. I can work while the kids are at school, and I love to paint! Painted garage doors have all the rich, warm “feel” of wood doors, without the cost and maintenance. They won’t warp or swell and they never need to be re-stained or sealed. If they get dirty, you can just hose them off.
I have recently expanded my painting to include entry doors, propane tanks and electrial boxes. I spent some time this summer in Northern Arizona and many of the cabins and homes there depend on propane gas for all their heating and cooking needs, but the tanks themselves are an unattractive eyesore when sitting next to a beautiful cabin or log home. My solution was to paint them to look like a log, to blend in with the surroundings.
